China Cabinet with Fabric

A friend of Cindy from Run With Me wanted to get rid of this china cabinet, and Cindy was happy to take it! She had gotten the cabinet last year but wasn’t really sure what to do with it. In preparing her house for Thanksgiving, she decided it was time to tackle the beast.

Wood China Cabinet

Cindy gave it a quick sand before priming and painting with spray paint. I love that she’s not afraid of some color! After glazing, Cindy added even more character by attaching fabric to the back panel with spray adhesive. Cindy definitely gave the once drab cabinet new life!

Painted Storage Bed

Amy from Junque Chic 5 was paid a high compliment when her little brother said his Christmas wish was a bed painted by his big sis. Amy found a captain’s bed on Craigslist that would provide plenty of storage for her college brother with its under-the-bed drawers.

Captains Bed

Amy renewed the wood bed with a distressed black finish and red stencil detail. She even lined the drawers with hot pink and black paper in honor of her brother’s favorite colors. Amy is so grateful to have her Navy brother home, and this bed is the first step in spoiling him rotten this holiday season!

Modern Office Chair

One of the benefits of living in a condo for CC from Zodirowe is finding all kinds of great loot in the shared dumpster. She scored this office chair that was sporting a little rust and green vinyl.

Dumpster Office Chair

Since reupholstering isn’t exactly CC’s forte so she opted to give vinyl spray paint a go. It worked like a charm to cover up the ugly green. CC added some fabric to the seat with adhesive for an extra pop of color. The crisp white paint and geometric print give the once outdated chair a new, modern look.

Reclaimed Truss Headboard

Gwen from The Bold Abode spotted a leftover truss sitting by the dumpster of a newly constructed house. After eyeing the truss for several days, Gwen called a friend to help her lug the rare find home.

Truss

With a lot of sanding and a few special touches, Gwen turned the truss into a truly unique headboard for her bedroom. She made some red curtains to go behind it for one last dramatic touch. The gorgeous fabric is the perfect complement to the natural wood.

Geometric Stenciled Dresser

Mandy at Sugar Bee Crafts made a u-turn when she saw this dresser sitting on the side of the road. The piece was solid wood and in pretty decent shape. It’s always a wonder what people will throw away! But, hey, Mandy’s gain since the dresser was perfect for her daughters’ bedroom.

before Dresser

Mandy “girlied” it up with some white paint for the base and purple for the drawer fronts. She then added a decorative element to the drawers using with a feminine, yet modern stencil. The detail of the stencil is a beautiful complement to the dresser’s simple lines. A lovely new dresser for two lovely little ladies!

Rotating Craft Organizer

This summer Suzy from Georgia Peachez transitioned to a new sewing studio. One project that had been on Suzy’s “back burner” for awhile was a rotating storage system made from repurposed and thrifted materials.

Rotating Storage Materials

Suzy used a large metal tray, tins, and lazy Susan to create her three-tiered spinning organizer. The vintage spool threads cover the rod that runs down the center. I love the creativity in using repurposed items and the fact that it’s completely practical and decorative at the same time.

Black Chandelier Candelabra

Gail from My Repurposed Life got an old brass chandelier secondhand with the intentions of using it in her kitchen. When she later found it still hanging in her garage, she decided to take a different route with it.

Brass-Chandelier8

After removing the electrical components of the chandelier, Gail painted it black and added candles. I love Gail’s idea to use jar candles so you don’t have to worry about messy wax drips. Gail suggests creating a relaxing outdoor ambience by hanging the candelabra from a tree or shepherd’s hook.

Decorative Jewelry Organizer

I shared on Infarrantly Creative an old crib I found sitting curbside while on a date with my hubs. It was solid wood and had a great shape, but I seriously had no idea what I was going to do with it as I was toting it into my van.

Curbside Crib

That is… until I got the idea to turn the crib into a piece of art AND storage. I love the decorative aspect with the pretty curved top and Bible verse on front, but this is also a functional piece. Pull open the little crystal knob and there’s plenty of storage space for all my jewelry. This is one of my favorite roadkill rescue projects to date!
