Bathroom Cabinet with Wallpaper

Amy from A Nest For All Seasons found a bathroom storage cabinet sitting curbside on the way to school with her kiddos. Yes, it was dirty and missing a few doors, but neither were obstacles Amy couldn’t work with.

With a little cleaning, wallpaper, and ingenuity, Amy created bathroom storage at its best! I love how she was able to to use items she already had on hand, making the transformation practically free. It just goes to show that it often takes just a little effort to make a big impact.

Kitchen Storage Cabinet

Megan from Meg and Mum’s bought this stinky, rundown 1930-1940’s era kitchen dresser a while back for only $50. It had been used for garage storage by the gentleman they purchased it from for years with the intention of eventually restoring it. It was pretty grimy to say the least.

Megan scraped off the paint and sanded the dresser before her hubs took over with the painting. With a few new pieces, including side panels, backing, and hardware, the dresser has been given new life and now sits proudly in Megan’s home. I’d say the transformation is quite miraculous! The cabinet went from a scuzzy eyesore to a stylin’ storage unit.

Reupholstered Accent Chair

Kristen from Inspired Whims received this high back chair from a retired music teacher who had decided to give it up to a new home after 30+ years of teaching. It was a great find because it was in excellent condition, needing only some cosmetic attention to bring it up-to-date.

Some primer, spray paint, and new fabric were all that were needed to spruce up the chair and make it a one-of-a-kind find. This chair really had so much to offer with all the detail work and the upholstered panel. I love that Kristen totally went for it with the bold red paint and printed fabric. It had been drab for so long it deserved a burst of color to reenergize it!

Painted Side Table

Helen from Picked & Painted scored a bunch of furniture when her mother-in-law moved. The first of many pieces she has completed is a side table. Helen stripped off the original finish to prep the table for its new look.

Helen made a homemade chalk paint recipe, distressed, waxed, and stuck 
the refabbed table in her living room. Helen loves that the piece gets to stay in the family and is overjoyed with how it came out. She says, “I think yellow is my new favorite color!!”

Metal Pedestal Bowl

Okay, so who’s still dying to see what else Susan from Homeroad made from the big ol’ lamp she got curbside? I know that I am loving Susan’s creative repurposes! Here’s a reminder of some of the lamp pieces Susan had after dissecting her specimen.

Susan again combined several of the pieces with a rod in the middle to create a brand new decorative piece – a pedestal bowl! With a coat of oil rubbed bronze, this piece is chock full of decorating potential. What do you think? Way better than a monster sized lamp with with ornate fish and horses?

Silver Candlestick

Some of you may remember the eyesore of a lamp Susan from Homeroad got from the side of the road. It was huge with some interestingly ornate details covering pretty much every inch of it. Susan had challenged herself to create five projects from the lamp parts.

After seeing the jewelry hooks Susan made for project number one, you know I had to go back and see what else she had in store. Susan stacked small pieces on a long pole from the lamp to make a lovely candlestick. Can you believe she didn’t even need glue to secure it? Susan is just that good!

Wooden Wall Sign

In the process of making over her sister’s master bedroom for under $50, Katie from Creatively Living needed some wall art for a blank wall. Since she was working on a tight budget, Katie made use of items she already had around her house, grabbing up some scrap wood and paint from her stash.

Katie painted her boards and then arranged them horizontally to make her sign. She added wording from her sister’s favorite Bible verse in Lamentations 3:21-23, " ……because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Those are some pretty awesome words to have hanging on your wall!

Drawer Art Display

Amy from A Nest For All Seasons rescued some dressers that were sitting in the trash calling her name. There were eight drawers total, and they were sadly without a dresser frame to call their own. It wasn’t a problem for Amy though who found a whole new way to repurpose the castoffs.

After giving the drawers a thorough washing, Amy painted them with Oops! paint and hung them on the wall in a grid. With some simple cup hooks and curtain rings, her kiddos now have their own display boxes for artwork!
