Wheelbarrow Coffee Table

I love that Donna from Funky Junk Interiors isn’t afraid to try something a little different, even if there’s a chance people may not love it. She actually challenged her readers to step out on a limb with her and share their own “gutsy” creations. Donna started with a rusty old wheelbarrow she had on hand.

Pair the rusty wheelbarrow with leftover cedar boards and what have you got? A truly original coffee table! I love Donna’s built-in magazine storage compartment. She really is too clever. The table looks cozy and right-at-home in Donna’s living room.

Tin Can Game

When in need of some party games for a bunch of active little boys, Heidi from Homemade Beauties by Heidi came up with this great idea that repurposes tin cans. Heidi used vegetable cans with pull tops for her game so there were no sharp edges.

In honor of the ever-so-popular Angry Birds game, Heidi gave her tin cans little pig faces using some craft paint. She also painted red bouncy balls like the red birds so the boys could have a blast launching them at the pig tins. This is just too cute!

Door Coffee Table

Susan from Homeroad is fortunate to live only a few blocks away from an antiques dealer who frequently has some fabulous treasures sitting curbside. That’s where Susan scored this antique armoire door.

Susan had plans to turn the door into a coffee table. After a little trial and error, Susan created the perfect table by attaching the door to the top of an old bench she had on hand. She ended up painting the base black and then adding some stenciled details that are the perfect finishing touch!

Trunk Media Console

Carolyn from My Simple Messterpiece scored a truly unique media console for free on Craigslist. She immediately fell in love with the faux straps and buckles and overall rustic look of the piece.

Carolyn made a new top since the old one had been damaged from moisture. She then deepened the color with some brown paint and freshened up the buckles with spray paint. I love how Carolyn preserved the uniqueness of the piece and just enhanced its features. It’s seriously amazing what you can find for free on Craigslist!

Blue Console Table

Heather from Larissa Hill Designs spotted this great console table at a recent auction for only five dollars and knew she had to bring it home. Talk about a steal! The top needed a little love, but the table overall looks to be in pretty remarkable shape.

The table now looks beautiful in blue, distressed to perfection with wax and glass knobs for a shabby chic vibe. Heather added the table to her daughter’s room as a nightstand. I totally agree that it looks awesome against the lavender striped walls!

Crutch Floor Lamp

For all my Infarrantly Creative readers, you probably recall this repurpose project that I said you’d either love or hate. I was issued the challenge to revamp a pair of old wood crutches. I really pondered the possibilities before coming up with a slightly zany, way outside-the-box idea.

I have been working a lot on my gray and coral guest bedroom and decided to transform the crutches into a completely unique, modern-style floor lamp for the space. The design actually came together rather nicely and the lamp has really grown on me. Love or hate it, at least my guests will have a topic of conversation as they unpack their suitcases!

Decoupage Guitar Clock

If you have a music lover in your life, this guitar upcycle by Gail from My Repurposed Life is going to rock your world! (Corny, I know!) Gail ended up with an old guitar after a friend salvaged it from a neighbor’s garbage. The poor thing had been through a lot as you can see.

Gail’s big plans for the guitar involved transforming it into a cool clock. She decoupaged it with sheet music and then added some old clock parts. I love the little picks as hour marks, and if you look closely, you can see that the lyrics are for the song “Only Time.” This clock is totally unique and doubles as a piece of art!

Pallet Jewelry Holder

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, that may mean you need to make room for a new piece of jewelry or two. Why not put them on display with a jewelry shelf like the one made by Leslie from Sweet Sweet Simplicity? Leslie started out with a mini pallet. Isn’t it cute?

Leslie sanded, painted, and stained the pallet and then added some salvaged pieces from old end tables. The wire part happens to be perfect for hanging earrings! Leslie then gave the pallet the five star treatment – girly hooks, glass drawer pulls, and pretty patterned scrapbook paper. I love seeing another creative pallet repurpose!
