Silverware Box to Stationery Organizer

Kristin from Bliss at Home recently shared this rescue project at Lacquer and Linen. She started the project with a rescued silverware box that had seen better days, and turned it into a pretty stationary organizer.

The silverware box had good bones, but it was definitely dingy. Kristin spruced it up by removing the worn felt from the interior, and using a sample pot of Valspar’s Sweet Mint to paint the box. Contact paper in a trendy gray and white geometric pattern was used to cover the inside of the box, for an interesting contrast. She used pieces of scrap wood to create the interior dividers. Doesn’t the new stationery organizer make you want to sit down and write a letter? It’s beautiful.

  1. It’s spelled “stationery.” With an “e” at the end, as in “envelope”-an easy way to remember it!

    • Right you are Juli! Dang! I hate when that happens! I totally know the station”e”ry like pap”e”r rule too! Awhh! Homophones! I usually write really good…that was grammar joke…yes, I know it’s well. Thanks for pointing that out ;) xo Kristin

    • Thanks for pointing that out, Juli! I think two of us were spelling it that way. I’ll go fix it right away. Don’t you love what she did with that box?

  2. Thanks for featuring my little station”e”ry box Beckie :) xo Kristin

    • Haha! We both feel a little silly…and don’t worry, I’ve been known to serve a desert instead of a dessert, myself. The joys of blogging! What really matters is that I L.O.V.E. what you did to that box! Can it come live at my house?
