A Darling Chalk Holder from a Cardboard Tube

Consie blogs at Atop Serenity Hill. She recently make a chalkboard for her home, and realized that she needed an easy way to keep chalk nearby. No need to buy anything for this, because Consie used materials that she already had on hand.

The base for this chalk holder was something that I’m pretty sure all of us have at home: a cardboard tube. A toilet paper roll is the perfect size, but any tube can be cut down to the size of your chalk and used. “I then hot glued the bottom closed and painted the entire tube with white acrylic paint,” Consie explains. She covered the tube with washi tape after the paint dried and created a hook with a strip of burlap. Now it hangs nearby her chalkboard, ready for the pieces of chalk. Adorable, right?
