Going Rustic with Wooden Candle Sticks

Jamie is the owner of a large collection of stained wooden candlesticks. She says, “They all have a nice shape, but I’m not too much of a fan of the finish and some of them aren’t in great condition.” Jamie, who blogs at Anderson + Grant, hit on a solution for turning these (almost) beauties into gorgeous rustic pillar candle holders!

Jamie sanded off the dark stain, “leaving a beautiful rustic wood” underneath. Rather than painting them, she left them as is. Then she glued “the open ends of two candlesticks together to form a flat topped pillar candle holder.” You could even glue three candlesticks together for a really tall holder! After the sanding was done, the rest of the project took minutes. Jamie of course is thrilled with the results!
