Kimm at Reinvented needed an “unusually tall, unusually narrow and unusually shallow foyer table” to fit her tall, narrow, shallow foyer. The solution came in the form of four porch posts, one old bike wheel, and a genius husband.
Kimm’s engineer husband was the one who pointed out that “four porch posts and some scrap wood” aren’t stable enough for a table, and that it needed “some kind of cross piece for stability.” He hit on the idea of a bike wheel, and found a shop who just gave them an old wheel. They attached it to the posts with small screws. She didn’t sand or paint the posts or scrap wood, just left them as is. Kimm says, “And darn it if that old bike wheel didn’t complete the coolest foyer table I’d ever laid eyes on.” Gold medals all around!
